Shpickle Scrubs app for iPhone and iPad

The story began like this...
It was a cold winters evening during the height of the pandemic in 2020 when the owners of Shpickle had to make a plan; a 5 month old baby needed formula and diapers, rent was due and what use to be a steady source of income from weddings and events had stopped as lockdowns across the globe ensured no gatherings could take place. One thing was certain, the demand for scrubs was at an all time high while the supply was running low and slow. One sample and one post on social media is all it took to get what they thought would be temporary side business off the ground and catapult it into a full time business.

With a combined total of 22 years in design, sales and business leadership Janita Toerien and Mitzi Gilbert started Shpickle. The duo makes a mean team as Mitzi, who is also known as the sought after DJ Chopper, has a deep understanding of working with people to identify needs, solve problems and lead with an entrepreneurial mindset while Janita brings her expertise in design as a renowned wedding dress designer.
Two years later Shpickle is a company that has grown to a team of 8 members who all share the same vision of using local supply and manufacturing chains in order to create job opportunities for South Africans and in that produce scrubs that are not just comfortable and of high quality but also something that makes you love being in your scrubs.
